CATCH EARLY THE PREDIABETICS!
1. Fasting Plasma Glucose 100–125 mg/dl (5.6–6.9 mmol/l) = IFG (impaired fasting glucose)  
2. 2-h postload glucose 140–199 mg/dl (7.8–11.1 mmol/l) = IGT (impaired glucose tolerance)
3 They are at high risk for developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Medical nutrition therapy aimed at producing 5–10% loss of body weight, exercise, and certain pharmacological agents have been shown to prevent or delay the development of these diseases.
